Type 2 Diabetes – Isoflavones for the Prevention of Diabetes

In July 2016 the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported on research showing isoflavones can be helpful in the prevention of Type 2 diabetes. The study was completed at Harvard School of Public Health and several other institutions in Boston, USA, and China. Over 160,000 adults filled out food diaries over a period of more than ten years. Those participants who consumed the greatest amount of isoflavones had the lowest risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. This was especially the case for isoflavones daidzein and genistein. A healthy diet is one to help you with all of the above. While it’s unlikely healthy eating alone would fix all of an ill adult’s health issues, it can certainly make a significant difference for the better. And when it comes to weight loss and controlling Type 2 diabetes, a healthy diet may be all you need.
